Expansive Gourmet Kitchen and Family Room

This custom home kitchen is truly 2 kitchens in one! 2 islands, 2 pantries, kitchen sink as large as 2 sinks and more. The former Tuscan style made the expansive space feel overwhelming and dark. The footprint of the space, however, is highly functional for the owners. New white and natural walnut cabinets, calacatta quartz countertops, tile and quart backsplash, navy blue pendant lights and Origami white paint transformed this to an inviting family space. We re-installed the red Viking range, oven and warming drawer, adding an unexpected pop of color while keeping the great quality of appliances. NOTE: due to supply chain, the built in refrigerator and freezer and dishwashers were backordered, so missing from the photos. 

The fireplace wall and family room were transformed with 2- 9' stacking pocket doors, new quartz fireplace surround and built in shelves and Origami white paint as well. The natural light from the larger doors and lighter paint makes the room feel twice as large, yet comfortable. Luxury vinyl plank flooring was installed throughout the downstairs living space, covering old travertine flooring that didn't suit the homeowner's vision. 

Walnut Custom Kitchen

Previously this expansive kitchen was a closed off room from the rest of the living space. Removing non-load bearing walls allowed us to extend the kitchen the full length of the home and install an oversize waterfall island for easy entertaining. The mid century modern vibe of the residence is evident in the slab door natural walnut kitchen cabinets and honed black countertops. Porcelain plank floor tile is as stylish as it is easy to care for while zen inspired backsplash tile completes the look.

Spring Valley Open Kitchen

By removing 2 walls that separated the kitchen and dining room from the family room, we created a large great room and transformed the look of this home built in the late 1970s. Asbestos and lead remediation were needed on the project, so the homeowner worked with a company to have all necessary areas properly treated. The new kitchen layout includes a large pantry cabinet, with rollout trays, for ample storage. The new island is large enough for barstool seating and prep space at the same time. Stainless steel appliances and gray countertops and backsplash pop against the white shaker cabinets. The homeowner was looking for a modern but not sterile updated kitchen and living space. New sliding glass doors and windows were installed to make the home more energy efficient and provide a better sound barrier. 

Renewed Great Room and Kitchen

The kitchen and family room in this expansive, one story, custom home were closed off, from the rest of the home, with potshelves and a stair-step pony wall. The fireplace and surround were also dated. By removing the dated potshelves and reframing the fireplace surround, installing a modern, ribbon fireplace, and adding stacked stone to the wall we brought this great room to life! As part of this project we also added custom wainscot to the dining room and a small bartop and wine chiller.

Sun City Contemporary Kitchen

This homeowner wanted to modernize her kitchen, without changing the footprint, so she could keep her existing flooring as it runs throughout the dining and family rooms. First we removed the old ceiling light panels and installed recessed can lighting with LED bulbs. Light gray (filtered shade is the color name) shaker cabinets are fresh and timeless at once. Calacatta quartz countertops are durable and give the look of granite without the maintenance. Multicolor, gray, hexagon tile backsplash brings some fun and visual appeal to the minimalist space. The 33" Kohler farm sink and new stainless steel appliances complete the transformation.

The homeowners purchased this home and decided, right away, they needed more kitchen space. As they entertain large groups often, enlarging the kitchen and providing a bar seating space, at the peninsula, was a priority. Adding an island gave more prep space, for when guests are seated at the peninsula, and an appliance garage keeps all of their small appliances away but easily available. 

Henderson Kitchen Makeover

Once a simple basic closed in kitchen, now an open, airy space with the warmth of oak wood cabinets and hardwood flooring with stainless steel appliances and stainless farm sink make this kitchen a dream to live and cook in for any level of chef. The separate island of black distressed bead board cabinets with stainless gas cooktop and floating stainless range hood are a dream come true for this homeowner now.
