Farmhouse Kitchen

This open concept farmhouse kitchen looks nothing like the walled in, dropped ceiling and pot shelf laden space that occupied it prior. We removed a non-load bearing wall and the framed down soffit/ceiling to expose the vaulted ceiling and create an open kitchen/nook/living space. An oversize island houses the sink, cabinet storage space and offers seating, all in one. The homeowner had a unique idea to house an appliance garage and pantry behind custom barn doors. When closed, open shelving is exposed. When open, the pantry and work space are easily accessible. White washed brick backsplash and Taj Majal quartzite countertops are serene but give a rustic touch to the farmhouse vibe of the kitchen.
