Black and White Modern Classic Kitchen

The original kitchen and family room were closed in by a surrounding wall with pot shelves. The homeowner desired an open concept kitchen and great room. We started by removing the walls, archway and a coat closet to make one open great room. New white shaker cabinets are classic and bright. Black and white 12x12 porcelain floor tiles, set in a checkerboard pattern, bring the vintage 50s look to the modern space.

In addition to the kitchen we installed black 12x24 porcelain tile in the living areas and hallway replacing 4 different floorings, none of which matched one another. We also opened an archway and closed off a bedroom door to create and office space where a hallway and bedroom were ill configured.
