- Getting started on your fix
- Drill small holes in the grout at the center of each side of the tile, stone, marble etc.
- The hole size will depend on the width of your grout joint. 3/16″ works good on a 1/4″ grout joint
- Fix-A-Floor comes with application tips so cut open a tub, attach the tip and place in your caulking gun
- Next, cut the tip of the applicator at the notch that matches your drilled hole size. The tips come pre-marked at 1/8″, 3/16″ and 1/4″ for clear cut points. The tip is also extra firm to prevent bending while applying the adhesive
- TIP: Keep a finger over the applicator to prevent the adhesive from running out of the tube, It can be messy and will waste a bunch of your adhesive.
- Place the tip in one of the pre-drilled holes in the grout and squeeze, watch for it to come up out of the other holes
- Once you see it coming out of any of the other holes, stop, place finger over the tip again to prevent leakage and then move to another pre-drilled hole in the grout.
- Once you have filled under the flooring completely wipe away any excess adhesive with a wet sponge
- Place the heavy object, whatever that might be from the list above, or, whatever ingenious object you conjured up to use as weight to hold down the flooring
- Chances are some of the adhesive has squeezed up out of the holes so wipe again to remove with your wet sponge
- Drill small holes in the grout at the center of each side of the tile, stone, marble etc.
